Three Years Ago we were commissioned by Liverpool CCG to deliver an innovative Healthy Liverpool Project working with hundreds of people across merseyside and facilitating creativity, self portrait painting and circles as well as exhibitions within the community. Here are so highlights of the project.

In 2015 we provided workshops and circles in Liverpool where women from diverse communities created 100+ portraits which were made life size. We worked with :

  • Women Leaders
  • Women Living with Breast Cancer
  • Women living with Dementia and Staff at Care Homes
  • Women from the Pakistani Community Centre
  • Women living with Mental Health Issues
  • Women who identify as LGBTQI
  • Women who access PSS Womens Support Groups
  • Women who were referred by GPs at Princes Park Health Centre.
  • Women in recovery and staff in recovery services
  • Women who self referred as feeling it would help their health issues to attend

We trained 15+ women to be volunteers on our project in safeguarding, hosting wellbeing circles, assisting in facilitating, working with diverse groups and confidence building. Many of our volunteers went on to go to art college and part and full time jobs after the training.

We held monthly womens circles over the three years and some months had over 50 people attend the circles.

We took the exhibition out into the community and networked with many organisations and did joint events and networking with ……Honeysuckle Project, Liverpool Womens Hospital, Brink Liverpool, Addaction, Liverpool Loves, Morecrofts Liverpool, Tomorrows Women, WEB, Liverpool John Moores Art School, Bolton University, Ted X Talks, Liverpool Pride, Brownlow Hill Group Practice at Princes Park Health Centre, Merseyside Police, PSS, Liverpool University Feminist Society, The Homeless Period, Sefton Public Health, Young Minds… and many more

We created an exhibition which now has over 500 self portraits (many life-size) from across merseyside. The exhibition has been on tour across Merseyside and further afield in UK including:
